About / Evolution

Our Journey

Persatuan Promosi Matlamat Pembangunan Lestari (PPMPL) was established in 2020 as the legal entity and Secretariat supporting the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG). It manages programme implementation, staffing, partnerships, research arrangements and funding associated with APPGM-SDG's work. Government funding for APPGM-SDG has historically been channelled through PPMPL, including allocations from the Ministry of Finance.

Since then, PPMPL has evolved beyond its initial focus on localising the SDGs through APPGM-SDG. Building on years of grassroots engagement, community solutions, research and cross-sector partnerships, PPMPL has progressively developed an interconnected ecosystem addressing different dimensions of sustainable and inclusive development.

Today, PPMPL serves as the mother institution and social development infrastructure supporting a growing ecosystem of specialised platforms and institutions.
